Andrew "Andy" Mitchell is a Canadian politician, born 21 April 1953 in Montreal, Quebec, who worked as a banker for the Bank of Nova Scotia before representing Parry Sound-Muskoka in the House of Commons as a Liberal from 1993 to 2006. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food from 20 July 2004 to 5 February 2006 under Prime Ministers Jean Chretien and Paul Martin, during which he addressed bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) trade restrictions and farm sector assistance programs.
