Gerald "Gerry" Ritz is a Canadian politician, born 19 August 1951 in Delisle, Saskatchewan, who worked as a farmer and ran a contracting business before representing Battlefords-Lloydminster in the House of Commons as a Conservative from 1997 to 2017. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food from 14 August 2007 to 4 November 2015 under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, a tenure that included the 2008 listeriosis outbreak and the 2012 E. coli recall at XL Foods.
