Vicente Uribe Galdeano was a Spanish metalworker and Communist Party politician born in Bilbao in 1902 and dying in exile in Prague in 1961. He served as the Republic's Minister of Agriculture from September 1936 through the war's end in early 1939, implementing land reform that included a decree seizing rural properties from those involved in the military rebellion against the Republic. After the Republic's defeat he went into exile in Mexico, then Paris and finally Prague, rising within the Communist Party of Spain's leadership before being marginalized in the post Stalinist purges of 1956.
