Rafael Cavestany de Anduaga

Rafael Cavestany de Anduaga was a Spanish agricultural engineer and Falangist politician born in Madrid in 1902 and dying there in 1958. He served as Minister of Agriculture from July 1951 to February 1957, nearly six years during which he pushed land consolidation to address small plot farming, built new irrigation systems and created the Agricultural Extension Service in 1955. His signature initiative was the 1952 Plan Badajoz, developing infrastructure, colonization, industrialization and electrification across Badajoz province, and he sat as a Procurator in the Francoist Cortes across several terms between 1943 and 1958.
