Lorenzo Natali was an Italian Christian Democracy politician from Florence, a lawyer and decorated anti fascist veteran of the Second World War, who served as Minister of Agriculture from 1970 to 1973 across the governments of Mariano Rumor, Emilio Colombo and Giulio Andreotti. He later had a long career in Brussels as a European Commissioner across three successive Commissions between 1977 and 1989, holding responsibility at various times for enlargement, the environment, nuclear safety, Mediterranean policy, information, cooperation and development affairs.
