Jose Luis Garcia Ferrero was a Spanish veterinarian and independent politician who served as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food for just 81 days, from September to December 1982, under Prime Minister Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo. His brief tenure ended with Felipe Gonzalez's election as prime minister, and it stood as the shortest ministerial term of Spain's democratic era until 2018. Trained as a veterinarian at Madrid's Complutense University, he built his political career as an independent rather than through party affiliation. He was born in Fuensalida in 1929 and died in Madrid in 2020.
