Jean-Pierre Soisson was a French centrist politician, born in 1934 and died in 2024, who was a deputy in the National Assembly for the first district of Yonne across several terms between 1968 and 2012 and mayor of Auxerre from 1971 to 1998. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development from 2 October 1992 to 29 March 1993, roughly six months, under President Francois Mitterrand.
