Jean Glavany is a French Socialist Party politician, born in 1949, who served as Minister of Agriculture from 1998 to 2002 under President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Lionel Jospin. During his tenure he prohibited the pesticide Gaucho, which was alleged to be linked to a sudden decline in bee populations.
