George Frederick Richardson was an English-born New Zealand politician, born 1837 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and died 23 October 1909 in Wellington, who emigrated to New Zealand in 1851 and worked as a surveyor before entering Parliament. Representing the Mataura electorate from 1884 to 1893 and 1896 to 1898, he served as an independent cabinet minister in the Fifth Atkinson Ministry, holding the portfolios of Lands, Mines and Immigration from 1887 and becoming the colony's Minister of Agriculture from 17 October 1889 until the ministry fell on 24 January 1891, when he was succeeded by John McKenzie.
