Charles Robert Wynn-Carington, later 1st Marquess of Lincolnshire, was a British Liberal politician and aristocrat, born 16 May 1843 and died 13 June 1928. He served as Governor of New South Wales from 1885 to 1890 and as Lord Chamberlain from 1892 to 1895, and, created Earl Carrington in 1895, served as President of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries from 1905 to 1911 under Prime Ministers Henry Campbell-Bannerman and H. H. Asquith. He went on to serve as Lord Privy Seal from 1911 to 1912 before his elevation to the marquessate.
