Rocco Salomone

Rocco Salomone was an Italian politician from Pizzo in Calabria who began his political career in the Partito Popolare Italiano in 1919 before joining the Christian Democracy party after the Second World War. Elected to the Senate in 1948, he represented Calabria across three legislatures. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Forests from July 1953 to January 1954, under the governments of Alcide De Gasperi and Giuseppe Pella, a tenure that fell in the difficult postwar years of land reform and rural reconstruction in southern Italy. He remained a senator until his death in 1960.
