Filippo Maria Pandolfi was an Italian Christian Democracy politician who served as Minister of Finance from 1976 to 1978 and Minister of the Treasury from 1978 to 1980, where he proposed the Pandolfi Plan for Italy's entry into the European Monetary System. He served as Minister of Agriculture and Forestry from 1983 to 1988, overseeing Italy's implementation of the European Community's milk quota system, before going to Brussels as European Commissioner for Science, Research, Development, Telecommunications and Information under Jacques Delors from 1989 to 1992, where he championed high definition television development and research cooperation with central and eastern Europe.
