Per Pinstrup-Andersen, born in 1939, is a Danish economist and Professor Emeritus at Cornell University who served as Director General of the International Food Policy Research Institute from 1992 to 2002. Before retiring in 2013 he held the Howard Edward Babcock Professorship of Food, Nutrition and Public Policy and the J. Thomas Clark Professorship of Entrepreneurship at Cornell, and he is a recipient of both the Charles A. Black Award and the World Food Prize.
