Lawrence James Haddad, born June 17, 1959, is a British economist whose research focuses on making food systems work better to improve nutrition for people worldwide. He directed the Food Consumption and Nutrition Division at the International Food Policy Research Institute from 1994 to 2004 and the Institute of Development Studies from 2004 to 2014, and has served as Executive Director of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition since October 2016. He was a co-chair and lead author of the Global Nutrition Report from 2014 to 2016 and was appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George in the 2023 New Year Honours.
