Viroids, tiny naked circular RNA infectious agents with no protein coat that infect crops such as hops, coconut and citrus. A pathogen belongs here when its cited article calls it a viroid. They are among the smallest known infectious agents and spread through cuttings, grafting, tools and sometimes seed, and some cause lethal disease in perennial crops. Because they cannot be treated, control depends on clean planting material, sanitation of tools and removal of infected plants. This heading gathers the viroids of the atlas so a visitor can compare their hosts and the diseases they cause.
