The Checkered Giant, known in French as the Geant Papillon, is a breed of domestic rabbit that originated in France and is one of the largest rabbit breeds. It is recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association and is one of the minority of rabbit breeds bred for specific coat markings, though the markings defined in its standard differ somewhat from those of the related Giant Papillon. For American show purposes a mature buck must weigh at least 11 pounds and a mature doe at least 12 pounds, with no maximum weight specified.
