A steam-powered, self-propelled vehicle built to haul heavy loads on roads, work agricultural fields, or provide stationary belt power, replacing the draught horse as the main power source for farm work and haulage before the internal-combustion tractor took over. Many also drove threshing machines and other implements through a belt run off a large flywheel. Facts
Introduced Year OriginThomas Aveling built the first commercially successful traction engine around 1859 by fitting a portable steam engine with a driving chain to make it self-propelled; regarded as the father of the traction engine, Aveling design and the standard form that developed through the 1860s remained largely unchanged for roughly the following sixty years. 1 Classification

Entity-backed identity for the power-source enum value this implement already carries, resolved to an agriculture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The power-source fact itself stays on the implement unchanged.
