Steam Traction Engine

Power, Irrigation and Farm Infrastructure Implements

A steam-powered, self-propelled vehicle built to haul heavy loads on roads, work agricultural fields, or provide stationary belt power, replacing the draught horse as the main power source for farm work and haulage before the internal-combustion tractor took over. Many also drove threshing machines and other implements through a belt run off a large flywheel.
