Broadcast Seeder

Planting and Seeding Implements

A tool or mechanism for broadcast seeding, the scattering of seed by hand or mechanically over a wide area rather than in drilled rows. Simpler and faster than row planting, it uses ten to twenty percent more seed than a drill for the same area and remains the standard method for establishing dense plantings such as cover crops, pasture and turf.
