National Agricultural Research Institutes

A single country's own dedicated agricultural research institute or agency, organized separately from its policy ministry even where it is government funded, including the Agricultural Research Service, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Embrapa, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, INRAE, the James Hutton Institute, the John Innes Centre, the Julius Kuhn Institute, the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research and Rothamsted Research. Belongs here: any national or regional institute whose primary mission is agricultural science rather than governmental policy administration, whether structured as a government agency, a public research body or a charitable research institute. Does not belong here: an internationally funded research center serving many countries, grouped under International Agricultural Research Centers, or a teaching university, grouped under Universities and Colleges of Agriculture.
