Combine Harvester

The machine that combines the three separate jobs of the grain harvest, reaping, threshing and winnowing, into one pass across the field. Patented by Hiram Moore in 1835 and horse-drawn for decades, the self-propelled combine finished what the reaper began: grain harvests that once took whole villages now take one operator.
