Anthonomus pomorum

Anthonomus pomorum, the apple blossom weevil, is a univoltine beetle that feeds on domestic apple trees, Malus domestica. Adults overwinter in forest leaf litter and hedgerows before migrating into orchards each spring, where they colonize apple trees and damage developing blossoms, reducing fruit set. It is treated as an agricultural pest insect of apple orchards, and spiders are among its natural predators, offering some potential for biological control.
