Beetal

A breed of goat from the Punjab region of India and Pakistan, used for milk and meat production and also known as the Lahori goat. It is similar to the Jamnapari and Malabari goats, considered a good milker with a large body size and ears that are flat, long, curled and drooping. Its skin is considered high quality for its size and yields fine leather, such as velour, suede and chamois, used for clothing, shoes and gloves, and the breed has been widely used to improve local goat stock across the Indian subcontinent; it also adapts well to stall feeding, which makes it a preferred breed for intensive goat farming.
