Rosellinia bunodes

Rosellinia bunodes is a fungal plant pathogen that causes black root rot, colonizing plant roots and damaging vascular tissue in a broad range of herbaceous and woody perennials across tropical and subtropical regions. Documented hosts include tea, citrus, coffee, yam, fig, rubber, cassava, banana, avocado, pepper, potato, cocoa, ginger, daffodil, yerba mate and poplar. It behaves as an opportunistic soil saprophyte capable of infecting hosts at any stage of development, spreads through soil by mycelia and rhizomorphs, and is agriculturally significant across major crop-producing regions of the Americas, Africa, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
