John "Jack" Edward Rechcigl, born February 27, 1960, in Washington, D.C., is an American agronomist and environmental scientist whose research centers on soil science, fertilizer management and water quality. He joined the University of Florida in 1986, was promoted to full professor in 1996, has directed multiple agricultural research centers there, and was elected a fellow of both the American Society of Agronomy in 1998 and the Soil Science Society of America in 1999.
