Harris A. Lewin

Harris A. Lewin, born in 1957, is an American biologist and professor of evolution and ecology at the University of California, Davis, whose research centers on genomics and immunogenetics, particularly cattle genome sequencing. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, received the Wolf Prize in Agriculture in 2011 for his cattle genomics research, chairs the working group of the Earth BioGenome Project, an effort to sequence the genomes of all known eukaryotic species over ten years, and was a founding co-editor of the Annual Review of Animal Biosciences.
