The Bureau of Animal Industry was a United States Department of Agriculture agency responsible for controlling and eradicating livestock diseases, including hog cholera and Texas cattle fever, and for inspecting meat destined for interstate and export trade. Its disease-control and meat-inspection functions were later absorbed into successor USDA agencies.
