Kobe Shoji, born July 27, 1920, and died November 13, 2004, was an American executive in the sugar cane industry who grew up on his Japanese immigrant father's lemon farm in Upland, California, and earned a doctorate in plant physiology from UCLA in 1950. He served as vice president and chief agriculturist for C. Brewer and Co. beginning in 1960, after enlisting in the U.S. Army's 442nd Infantry Regiment following his family's wartime internment and earning two Purple Hearts.
