Nevin Stewart Scrimshaw (1918 to 2013) was an American food scientist and Institute Professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who developed nutritional supplements for alleviating protein, iodine and iron deficiencies in the developing world. He founded MIT's Department of Nutrition and Food Science, the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama, and the Nevin Scrimshaw International Nutrition Foundation, and received the World Food Prize in 1991.
