Justin Smith Morrill (1810 to 1898) was an American politician and entrepreneur who represented Vermont in the United States House of Representatives from 1855 to 1867 and in the United States Senate from 1867 until his death. He is most remembered for the Morrill Land-Grant Acts, which provided federal funding for establishing many of the United States' public colleges and universities, following a movement led by Jonathan Baldwin Turner.
