Bodies and organizations that research, fund, govern or serve agriculture, held as institutional entities distinct from a foundational idea, a farming method or a physical tool, including CGIAR and its research centers, national research institutes and ministries, universities, genebanks and producer organizations. The tree under this category groups by institutional type and mandate, following the CGIAR system's own inventory of its research centers alongside IFPRI's ASTI institutional-sector distinctions between government, higher-education and nonprofit agricultural research actors.
