The Bhadawari is an improved water buffalo breed from Uttar Pradesh, India, raised mainly for milk in the Agra and Etawah districts and also found in the Bhind and Morena districts of Madhya Pradesh. It is a medium-sized buffalo with a distinctive copper and grayish-black coat marked by two white lines on the lower neck, and horns that curve outward and upward close to the neck. Its milk is exceptionally rich in butterfat, ranging from about 6 to 12.5 percent, with cows lactating for around 272 days and yielding 752 to 810 kilograms of milk, and the breed is noted for resisting disease and heat better than many other buffalo breeds while thriving on coarse feed and crop residues.
