Evangelina Villegas Moreno (1924 to 2017) was a Mexican cereal biochemist whose work with maize at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center led to the development of quality protein maize. She shared the 2000 World Food Prize for this achievement with her colleague Surinder Vasal, becoming the first woman ever to receive the prize.
